Essl Award for Central and Southeast Europe

Exhibition of works by students nominated for the 2007 award

Every two years the Essl Museum for Contemporary Art from Klosterneuburg near Vienna gives out two awards to the most promising students attending the academies of fine art in the region of central and southeast Europe. Among the participating countries are the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia. Students apply with their works as outlined in the application documents. The nominees are selected by an international jury, this year consisting of the following:

Prof. Agnes Essl, Essl Museum, Klosterneuburg
Prof. Karlheinz Essl, Klosterneuburg
Martin Essl, CEO bauMax, Klosterneuburg.

Nominated:

Two Slovenian award winners were selected by the jury on 12 April 2007. The international Essl award winners’ from Slovenia are Velibor Barišič and Ana Sluga. The award winners’ exhibition will be held from 5 December 2007 to 10 February at the Essl Museum in Klosterneuburg.
