The International Symposium Baroque Art and Architecture in Slovenia: Migrations, Transfers, Contacts and Networks will take place between 13 and 15 October 2025 in Ljubljana and Brežice. It will highlight the artistic movements and cultural exchanges in the 17th and 18th centuries. The event is part of this year’s wide-ranging exhibition project Baroque in Slovenia, which connects several institutions and exhibitions across the country. The symposium is organized by the International Centre for Comparative Historical Studies (ICCHS) of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana, in cooperation with the National Gallery of Slovenia and the Posavje Museum Brežice and brings together more than thirty lecturers from Slovenia, Croatia, Austria and Italy. The experts will present new findings on artistic contacts, networks and transfers of ideas between the Republic of Venice, the Habsburg lands and the wider Central European milieu.
